Jaz Kemp (00:00) hi, Nicolle.
Nicolle Hepp (00:01) Hey, jess. How are you? I’m.
Jaz Kemp (00:03) good. How about yourself?
Nicolle Hepp (00:05) Good. Excited for your first inbound.
Jaz Kemp (00:10) me too.
Nicolle Hepp (00:13) Yeah. About time I.
Jaz Kemp (00:16) Was looking. She looks very good, like at least on LinkedIn.
Nicolle Hepp (00:19) Okay. I didn’t really look into it, but I’m here to help.
Jaz Kemp (00:23) Might need you back up. We’ll see the vibes, yes. Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (00:43) Seems like Erica’s up on the chili piper if they end up going to the next round, okay, cool. Do you include the SC, or like I was talking to Seth? He says he just tries to book for the next day, but then normally they take out like they do like Wednesday or Thursday. Is that kind of what you do too?
Nicolle Hepp (01:00) Yeah, I try to push like for this since it’s Monday. I would be like let’s aim for this week and then see what she says for Erica. She’s been here a while, so I would assume she doesn’t need her SC for the first call. It’s really just for like the newer folks. Okay. Yeah. So, Erica, you’re good.
Jaz Kemp (01:20) Do you like set it like during the meeting just to make sure that they get it?
Nicolle Hepp (01:24) Yeah, I’ll send it out.
Jaz Kemp (01:30) See if she shows up.
Nicolle Hepp (01:31) You know, it’s always a gamble.
Jaz Kemp (01:44) Today, I’ve been like on so many calls that I haven’t had time to like produce output.
Nicolle Hepp (01:50) Me too. I’m trying to do this like March madness thing today.
Jaz Kemp (01:55) Me too, but.
Nicolle Hepp (01:56) It’s taking me forever to like get all these filters in. And then I keep getting pulled into meetings but I should be able to get it out by today. I.
Jaz Kemp (02:05) Know, I think I’m just going to grind it out tonight if I have to. I like talked to Seth. He walked me through it and then, yeah, Jacob has a couple nav has a ton. So… yeah, I.
Nicolle Hepp (02:18) mean, if David already got two meetings that’s awesome.
Jaz Kemp (02:23) I know the problem is like, I don’t follow sports at all. I was like, I was like chachapiting, everything. I was like what’s going on?
Nicolle Hepp (02:31) I’m more into like professional football.
Jaz Kemp (02:34) Yeah.
Nicolle Hepp (02:34) But I mean, I used to like basketball, but right now, I don’t follow it at all.
Jaz Kemp (02:41) I would like go when I was at the U of M, I would go to the games, but yeah, I like to go to the games. Yeah, like those are fun. Yeah, I suppose fun to watch, but, yeah.
Nicolle Hepp (03:37) They don’t hop in by. What… is that? 11 35? I would send a quick email asking.
Nicolle Hepp (03:49) And be like, are you having any issues accessing the zoom link? Sometimes people for whatever reason can’t even get into the zoom.
Jaz Kemp (04:05) Do you just do subject line meeting with medallion? Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (05:32) Yeah. Let me just sign that. Yeah, perfect.
Angela Opalak (07:40) Thank you. Nice. Hello.
Jaz Kemp (07:53) I think you’re on mute.
Angela Opalak (07:54) Sorry, I was having issues with zoom. I forget that you guys use zoom. So I apologize, you’re.
Jaz Kemp (08:02) totally good. Nice to meet you, nice.
Angela Opalak (08:05) To meet you too, my.
Jaz Kemp (08:06) Name is Nicolle. Hi.
Angela Opalak (08:08) Nicolle. How are you?
Nicolle Hepp (08:10) Good. How are you? I’m.
Angela Opalak (08:11) good. Thank you.
Jaz Kemp (08:14) My name is jazz. Thanks for taking this call. You know, right now, we’re just going to kind of keep it high level. Nicolle here. My colleagues is going to be joining and listening in on and answering some questions that you may have. But essentially, what we have set for today is just kind of a high level overview a high level discussion as to, you know, why you guys reached out and then, you know, curious if this is a good fit.
Jaz Kemp (08:39) And then if it does make sense to continue conversations with you, we will connect you with an account executive. So, how does that kind of align with your expectations?
Angela Opalak (08:49) No, it’s good. But full transparency. I’m very familiar with medallion. I just left an organization that implemented medallion. So I really just, our quote in our contract over there would certainly not mimic what I would have over here. I don’t believe. And so I really just need to speak to someone about what that agreement would look like here and that’s hopefully what I can at least give you enough information to either put me in contact with account management so that I could obtain a quote. I think medallion will absolutely fix our problems and help me over here. But I think one of the things that organization had a lot more entities, different types of entities, multiple tax ids. It’s a little different here where I have a single tax id and multiple locations. And so I think the cost would not, most likely would not look the same. So full transparency, I just want to try to get a quote as fast as I can to get it in front of my CFO before we finalize budget items. So that’s kind of where I am. I love the platform. I think it would be great for our, for this, you know, organization. And so I’m good with that. I mean, obviously, I could use medallion myself and I know the process of implementation. So it’s really just about trying to get the cost associated with moving to you guys. Like I said, the organization I came from is very different and set up very different. Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (10:34) I appreciate that context that’s awesome to hear that you guys are familiar with medallion. Love it. That’s great to hear. So, yeah, let’s kind of just then jump right into it. Like you said, every organization that we partner with is different in how we build out the pricing, right? So just to kind of see where you guys are at. I’m curious on the number of existing providers you guys currently have today.
Angela Opalak (10:55) So we have a total of hold on, let me go to my list here because I think I put it in the little snippet, yeah, that you guys sent me between physicians and mid levels, hold on one second. Sorry… this is my location. Sorry… provider roster one second?
Angela Opalak (11:26) I feel like I have about sorry… my… roster is nowhere to be found. Give me a second.
Jaz Kemp (11:37) No worries. Take your time.
Angela Opalak (11:39) And you guys count a mid level as a provider, correct? Nicolle, like a nurse practitioner or a pa?
Nicolle Hepp (11:47) Correct. Okay. Yep, anyone that can be billable with payers is a provider in our eyes. All right. Give me one.
Angela Opalak (12:00) I bet she’s not opening. Do you have the snippet that I put in your? Yes?
Jaz Kemp (12:05) I do, I believe you put 150? Let me just double check that here. Does that sound about right?
Angela Opalak (12:11) It sounds a little heavy?
Jaz Kemp (12:12) Oh, number, you said number of providers, 120?
Angela Opalak (12:14) 120? Okay. Is, that is all providers and mid levels. So, yes, I included all of them.
Jaz Kemp (12:22) Yep. And then what about the number of new providers added annually?
Angela Opalak (12:27) It varies because we do acquisitions, you know. So this year, we’re not doing a lot of acquisitions. So I would say somewhere between two and five providers this year every year is different. It just depends on who we acquire, but I would say two to five for the remaining, you know, 26 year.
Jaz Kemp (12:52) Okay. And then what about the number of existing direct enrollment payers?
Angela Opalak (12:58) I would say it’s somewhere between 30 and 50? I would probably lean more towards 50. Okay? And that includes like workers’ comp payers as well. Okay.
Jaz Kemp (13:15) And then do you guys have any delegated enrollment payers?
Angela Opalak (13:25) Meaning, what do you mean? Delegated enrollment?
Jaz Kemp (13:29) Nicolle? Are you able to touch on that a little bit more?
Nicolle Hepp (13:32) Yeah. So when you have a delegated agreement with a payer, then it expedites the enrollment process… or if whereas direct enrollment, you just have to submit a single application and then delegated the rosters?
Angela Opalak (13:47) Things like that. The roster? Okay. I wasn’t the delegated thing did not. So I don’t know, I don’t know that answer. So I could find that out from my credentialing manager. I’ve only been in this organization less than a month. Okay? You just need to know the breakdown of roster related versus individual. Yeah.
Nicolle Hepp (14:11) And that could be something that you talk about at a later call just because we’re just trying to get some volumes to understand where you guys fit with the pricing, but that can be a later discussion. Okay?
Angela Opalak (14:24) Yeah. I will find out that’s a good question. I honestly don’t know. Okay?
Jaz Kemp (14:31) Yeah. So definitely, you know, thanks for providing some context here because we were just trying to get a sense of kind of where you guys are at in terms of, you know, number of providers. So what kind of solution are you guys looking for?
Angela Opalak (14:46) So definitely the credentialing, I would also say that it would be important for us to know when the licenses and deas were expiring, you know, so definitely.
Jaz Kemp (14:59) Ongoing monitoring.
Angela Opalak (15:00) Yes, definitely. Those two things I was trying to pull up because I’m still consulting for psa, but I was trying to pull up. I believe we just did those two things with you guys at my last meeting… at my last organization. I was just trying to pull that up.
Jaz Kemp (15:24) So you guys are kind of looking to completely?
Angela Opalak (15:27) Outsource it. I kind of want to mimic what we had over there.
Angela Opalak (15:37) Because I don’t think and I don’t know Nicolle if I can pull it up, just give me one second and I’ll tell you what we have. I just had to go to my other laptop.
Angela Opalak (15:54) But basically, you guys took care, you guys take care of all the enrollments and you have the caqh connection and letting us know when items were expiring and licensure… Dea, those types of things. Our biggest issues here at this organization is the lag time for my staff. I have a really young and experienced team here outside of the manager and they just can’t I don’t know. I just feel like they can’t get it all done and then the re, credentialing pieces are just bogging them down. So it’s really just about shortening the window between when we submit the application. And when we get approval and I know that is something that you guys can do. So, right?
Jaz Kemp (16:52) Yeah. Like you said, medallion’s an end to end solution. So it holds all the provider data. And like you mentioned, we do have that caqh that pulls in 80 percent of profile provider data.
Angela Opalak (17:06) I also think give me one second. I also think the… you know, the revalidation that’s a big deal for us as well?
Jaz Kemp (17:17) Because currently, you guys have an in house team. Do you guys have any software, anything you guys are using? Or is it all made up? Well, that’s.
Angela Opalak (17:24) the other thing, so we use credentialstream which is terrible if you know what it is or you’ve seen it as soon as I saw it, I was like we’re not keeping this sure. So I definitely think the platform is going to be a big help for us. You know, we operate in seven states. We have a lot of providers, a lot of locations and I think there’s no transparency to the clinics as far as who can take what. We have a lot of AI technology running. And there’s just nobody can tell anybody what we’re in network with that doctor.
Jaz Kemp (17:59) Sure. There’s no visibility, it’s.
Angela Opalak (18:01) super messy. Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (18:03) So, how many team members do you guys currently have on?
Angela Opalak (18:06) The team, we have a manager and three ftes. Okay? Perfect.
Angela Opalak (18:19) Yeah. I’m just looking at my list that I had at my other job. So the platform license expiration monitoring, caqh management, pay enrollment, pay, revalidation, demographic updates, and then the data import. We didn’t do the data import. We ended up doing the implementation spreadsheet manually. So we didn’t do, we didn’t do the data import from modio, I probably wouldn’t do it from carestream even if that was a thing, sure.
Jaz Kemp (18:56) I.
Angela Opalak (18:56) think I would just rather work off of the implementation document manually.
Jaz Kemp (19:00) Okay. Yeah. What was the name of the previous company that you were at? That you used in Italian?
Angela Opalak (19:08) Pain specialists of America? Okay?
Jaz Kemp (19:10) Pain specialists of America?
Angela Opalak (19:11) Yeah. I had, Naomi was my implementation person.
Jaz Kemp (19:15) Okay. And.
Angela Opalak (19:18) I worked with… my gosh, who did I work with? I love how you, Lindsay, is our, yeah, because, I still help them fractionally because I haven’t been replaced yet. So I’m still, oh, there.
Jaz Kemp (19:33) You go. I’m on, I’m playing two roles. You’re doing a lot.
Angela Opalak (19:37) So, I was like, wait a minute. I could just pull up my, Lindsay farmer is my account manager that’s awesome.
Jaz Kemp (19:45) Yeah.
Angela Opalak (19:45) Cliff, cliff, marge is my person. Oh, sure. Yeah, he was a sales Guy.
Jaz Kemp (19:52) Yes. Well, thank you so much for providing all this context. I mean, you’re very well versed in medallion. Clearly, you know, previously working with us, so it definitely seems like it would be worth having a conversation with someone like cliff, an account executive to go through these numbers and kind of break down. What would make the most sense for you guys. Yeah, looking at your calendars, it’d be great to get something scheduled this week.
Angela Opalak (20:16) And I would love to work with cliff again if possible, just because I think he knows me and I think it would be much easier if he’s available. I,
Jaz Kemp (20:26) will take a look. All of our account executives are very well versed and senior. So they’d be able to really like speak to this. Are you, how does your schedule look on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week or potentially Friday.
Angela Opalak (20:41) Tuesday, I could do in the morning, but Wednesday, I have a little bit more flexibility like I’m open, I’m on Eastern Time. So I’m open like 11 to one on Tuesday and any time after three 30? Oh.
Jaz Kemp (20:55) Right. So, if we did 10 to 10 30 PT, would be one, your time, right? Yeah.
Angela Opalak (21:04) Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (21:07) I was like,
Angela Opalak (21:08) I don’t have, I don’t have one, what on Tuesday or Wednesday on?
Jaz Kemp (21:11) Tuesday? Would one one 30 work for you?
Angela Opalak (21:14) Yeah, no, no. Okay. On Tuesday or Wednesday, Thursday, I could do, I could do one or one 30 on Thursday or Friday. Let me just see if.
Jaz Kemp (21:22) We did 11 30. So that’s two 30? Okay?
Angela Opalak (21:30) Are you on Pacific Time?
Jaz Kemp (21:31) I’m on Pacific Time. Sorry. Oh, yeah, I’m sorry.
Angela Opalak (21:34) What time did you say?
Jaz Kemp (21:35) I was going to say two 30, your time eastern on Tuesday?
Jaz Kemp (21:43) Otherwise, we can look at Wednesday.
Angela Opalak (21:45) Yeah, we’re going to have to, I just don’t have as much flexibility on Tuesday. Tuesday’s. A really terrible day. I think Wednesday, I’m open. So you’re on Pacific Time, so I could do four o’clock on Wednesday, which is one o’clock your time? Oh,
Jaz Kemp (22:04) one o’clock… we’ve got to call that on Wednesday. Would 12 30 to one work?
Angela Opalak (22:16) Yeah, I could do 12 30, my time, right? 12 30 to one.
Jaz Kemp (22:19) Oh, no, I was doing my time, so that would be, oh, three 30. I could do three 30? Okay?
Angela Opalak (22:25) Perfect. I could do three 30? Yeah.
Jaz Kemp (22:28) Okay. Perfect. I will, let me just send you that invite now. So you make sure it doesn’t go to spam.
Jaz Kemp (22:40) All right. Did you get that invite? I just sent it out.
Angela Opalak (22:52) Sometimes it takes a minute. I did get your invite initially, so I’m sure it’ll come through. It just hasn’t yet. Okay?
Angela Opalak (23:03) It might take a minute since you are like on the like an outside, yeah.
Jaz Kemp (23:07) I know sometimes the, yeah.
Angela Opalak (23:10) It has to go through a little bit of something technical. But, yeah.
Jaz Kemp (23:16) Yeah, it shows that you’re on. So we’ll just give it a second.
Angela Opalak (23:19) But yeah.
Jaz Kemp (23:20) This is exciting. I think medallion will be great and, you know, it’s awesome that you’re taking.
Angela Opalak (23:23) That institutional knowledge, I will tell you like, I think our implementation at our other organization was a little bit crazy because we have multiple tax ids, multiple entities, 50 plus providers, three ascs, like it’s just, it’s a little bit nuts and the way it’s set up, they have a lot of ipa and ms, you know, like ipas, where there was a lot of secondary contracts under the ipa. So it was just messy. So it made implementation very challenging. But once we got it done, I was like, okay, this actually is fine. I think getting through that piece was tough. The good thing about our organization now is like, I have one tax id, one npi and multiple locations. So it just makes it so much smoother. So it’s not crazy.
Jaz Kemp (24:16) So, yeah, yeah.
Angela Opalak (24:17) No, that makes sense. I think it’ll be, I think it’ll be better.
Jaz Kemp (24:20) Awesome. Did you get that email come through?
Angela Opalak (24:24) I don’t I haven’t gotten it yet. I just think it takes a little bit, okay?
Jaz Kemp (24:29) If you want to just email me or just accept and.
Angela Opalak (24:32) Then if not, I’ll send.
Jaz Kemp (24:34) you another invite to just make sure, but, you know, this was great. Thanks for jumping on for the quick call and I’m very excited for you to speak to an account executive. Thank.
Angela Opalak (24:43) you. I appreciate it. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, Nicolle.
Jaz Kemp (24:46) Nice to meet you as well. I’m excited to see where this goes.
Angela Opalak (24:50) Okay. Thank you. Bye bye.
