Cheryl Boyle (00:00) hi. Good morning. How?
Christina Selberg (00:01) Are you happy Friday?
Leigh Howle (00:03) Yes, yes, I’m doing good. Happy Friday. How are you? Thank.
Christina Selberg (00:06) you. I’m doing great. Awesome. It’s a good day. Yeah.
Leigh Howle (00:11) Yeah, yeah. How’s the weather your way, you?
Christina Selberg (00:14) Know, it’s been pretty nice. It was a little overcast this morning. So, who knows if it might, you know, we might get a little rain this weekend that would be exciting in Phoenix. How about you? Do you remind me where you are?
Leigh Howle (00:27) Yeah, I’m in east Tennessee.
Christina Selberg (00:29) Oh, nice. It looks like it’s nice and green it.
Leigh Howle (00:32) Is, yeah, it’s really sunny, a little cool. So it’s perfect. Oh,
Christina Selberg (00:36) nice. Yeah, sounds great.
Leigh Howle (00:38) Yeah, hi, Cheryl.
Cheryl Boyle (00:48) There we go. It’s always like a lag, I swear, I feel like it joins me and then it mutes me and takes me off camera immediately like, yeah.
Leigh Howle (00:59) Sometimes my zoom does that too.
Cheryl Boyle (01:04) Yeah, no, how are y’all, happy Friday.
Christina Selberg (01:06) Thank, you too.
Leigh Howle (01:08) Same to you. Yeah, doing good. Will Kelly be joining today?
Cheryl Boyle (01:12) No, she’s actually out sick. So, yeah, last minute call out, but it’s all good. So, okay. Yeah, no, I didn’t oh, thank you, Leigh. Yeah, I’ll let her know. I think she will, it was just like a mild like headache thing. So hopefully she’s yeah, it’s probably just connections. So, anyway, well, I’ll sorry, Leigh, I’ll let you kick us off. Go for it.
Leigh Howle (01:40) Yeah. No. So I was just going to say I didn’t have too much and I noticed that Amanda joined as well. Hi, Amanda. Hello there.
Amanda.Wo (01:52) Hi, so.
Leigh Howle (01:54) Didn’t really have too much. I just sent an email back Cheryl on medicare for, I’m not sure how to pronounce it, right? Yayo.
Amanda.Wo (02:01) Yes.
Cheryl Boyle (02:03) Yes. Yeah. So.
Leigh Howle (02:07) I think that is all the providers that you had wanted for medicare PE to be okay, awesome. And I just, I know we’ve talked a couple different times about the Arizona, complete reval date and I just wanted to kind of clarify if, what your decision was on those dates. Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (02:28) Yeah. I talked to Kelly and we’re just going to put like a one, one, 2,999 for the expiration date. And then as we get the notices in, I mean, I work pretty closely, we have jocs with that Sybil who’s our rep. So I’ll just, you know, if we don’t get notices from them, we’ll flag it, but otherwise, we’ll just take them at their word that they’re going to give us a six month notice. And then when we get the notice, we’ll just put in the request to medallion. And that way you guys aren’t spinning wheels and we’re not doing duplicate applications for folks who really aren’t undergoing revalidation. So, okay.
Leigh Howle (03:09) Sounds good.
Cheryl Boyle (03:11) Yeah.
Leigh Howle (03:16) And that was all that I had.
Cheryl Boyle (03:20) Okay. I know we have our licensing call with Kyle this afternoon, Amanda and Christina, is there anything?
Cheryl Boyle (03:29) So I wasn’t kind of aware of this dynamic Amanda and Christina. So I just want to let you know Leigh. So Leigh is kind of technically like our, well, Leigh, maybe you can explain it better. I don’t want to say you’re over Kyle, but like you’re our rep for if there are any issues with Kyle and the licensure process and stuff like that. Obviously, she’s sort of been instrumental in helping us like get the Pennsylvania checklist and resolve the things that we can front load on the tasks, the consolidated tasks and all that. So if there’s anything that you want to talk to Leigh, sort of about the Kyle call beforehand? Like now is a good time to do that. If that makes sense? No?
Amanda.Wo (04:10) There was, it wasn’t Kyle, but so Shelby springer had a case where she… was struggling to get the information submitted correctly, and she had sent a question to medallion like just general and the response was, well, did you follow the instructions? So it’s like, well, I mean, I’m sure she tried, but if she didn’t.
Cheryl Boyle (04:37) can you tell her where she did it?
Amanda.Wo (04:40) So, just like things like that, super helpful. And I did want to clarify, we have a couple of providers who seem to be licensed, but we’re waiting on their Dea. So I just want to make sure, am I good to start Eli and Brittany while we wait for their Dea? They’re not going to be prescribing any controlled substances, but is there anything for the state that I need to be aware of? Where they wouldn’t be able to start?
Leigh Howle (05:12) Not to my knowledge, they did get licensed. I think Kyle said it just came in. What was it just a couple of days ago?
Cheryl Boyle (05:21) Yes. Yeah. Eli’s is good. But, well, so Amanda, one thing I will say though, and maybe Lee, you know, this, the pals registration process though where they are hooking up with their supervising physician in pals and getting a separate RX authority number. Do they have to have that number before they can practice or can they go ahead and practice? They just can’t maybe prescribe and is it just.
Amanda.Wo (05:48) prescribing controlled substances or is it prescribing in general?
Leigh Howle (05:56) That is a good question. Let me do some research on that piece for pa medicaid to find out what their definition is of RX authority? Okay?
Cheryl Boyle (06:09) Yeah, that’s a great question too because we’re scheduled.
Amanda.Wo (06:12) To start Monday, right? And so, I want to make sure I’m not incorrectly advising anybody to start.
Amanda.Wo (06:19) So like I think Tuesday… Gina Polina is technically licensed, but I don’t know if she has her RX authority. So can she start on Tuesday? I think Albert’s good to go right for Monday. Okay? And then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday is Eli and Brittany. So I’m not sure. Like can they start, can they not start?
Cheryl Boyle (06:46) I want to say I can look up Gina’s licenses right now to see if she, I think she hooked herself up with dr montville because she’s an NP. Okay. And NPS are unlimited in Pennsylvania, thankfully. So, but I just want to double check. She has hers.
Amanda.Wo (07:02) Because like in Arizona, if I don’t have my Dea, I just can’t write controlled substances which you’re not going to write any controlled substances out of our urgent care anyway. Okay? But is that true in Pennsylvania? Because this RX authority thing is so confusing to my brain.
Cheryl Boyle (07:19) Yeah. I’m asking grok too. Okay. So, Gina Polina’s good. She’s got an RX number. Okay. Awesome from RX.
Amanda.Wo (07:24) Authority. Albert’s good to go too.
Cheryl Boyle (07:26) Pretty sure Albert does too. But let me just double check.
Amanda.Wo (07:30) Okay. Christina, do you know who’s on Monday with Albert? You?
Christina Selberg (07:37) Know what? I was just looking at that one moment, please?
Cheryl Boyle (07:43) It’s good too. He has an RX authority number.
Amanda.Wo (07:46) Awesome. Okay.
Cheryl Boyle (07:48) Now, and a Dea, Albert has his Dea for Pennsylvania and then Gina, Gina’s Pennsylvania Dea, I think is still in process. Oh, she actually emailed. I mean, I think I put you, yeah.
Amanda.Wo (08:01) I saw that one, but she has the RX authority. She.
Cheryl Boyle (08:05) Does, yes, she has RX authority. She just doesn’t have the Dea. Okay?
Amanda.Wo (08:09) So,
Christina Selberg (08:09) Amanda, Laura gatz is on urgent care on Monday, does, and.
Amanda.Wo (08:14) I don’t remember where is Laura gatz in the process? Because she was out on maternity leave for a lot of this. Does she have her Pennsylvania license?
Christina Selberg (08:22) Gatz, I believe does have her Pennsylvania license. I don’t know whether she has a Dea, but I think she’s got it. Okay. Let’s.
Cheryl Boyle (08:31) see, yeah, I can check on it real quick too. Okay?
Cheryl Boyle (08:39) Okay. So, grock says, no, a nurse practitioner generally cannot prescribe medications if they lack the formal prescriptive authority even if they hold a license, there are two distinct professions with separate licensing pathways, blah, blah, I feel like these.
Amanda.Wo (08:58) AI, things are not right when it comes to these type of detailed questions, could?
Cheryl Boyle (09:03) Be, yeah, no, I’m not saying. I, yeah, don’t take them as gospel. Yeah. Now, it’s starting to talk about Kansas. Okay?
Christina Selberg (09:12) Nevermind I said Pennsylvania, I wonder if we called the, I wonder if we called the board if we’d be able to find out we.
Amanda.Wo (09:18) Will not get a response before like Wednesday at the earliest. So, when I’ve emailed the Pennsylvania nursing board, it takes, no one will answer a phone call. They’ll direct you to an email. And then the emails get responded to about a week later. So, what?
Christina Selberg (09:34) About the medical board?
Amanda.Wo (09:37) Same… trying to find out how many like NPS and pas, they could supervise in Pennsylvania. It took over a week for each board.
Leigh Howle (09:47) Oh, wow. So, I did a quick search. My question was, will pa medicaid pay claims if a provider is licensed without prescriptive authority on that license? And, I think, the answer and kind of the same thing here, but usually only for services the provider is legally authorized to perform without prescriptive authority. If the claim depends on the provider acting as a prescribing ordering provider, Pennsylvania medicaid generally will not pay based on that provider’s, npi until the provider has both.
Leigh Howle (10:28) the required authority and is enrolled with medicaid for purposes. So, do.
Amanda.Wo (10:34) Brittany and Eli have prescriptive authority just subtracting their Dea, or they don’t have the RX authority?
Cheryl Boyle (10:41) Brittany’s working on that right now with the whole Peterson thing. Can we?
Amanda.Wo (10:45) Just put her with French and be like, sorry, it didn’t work out and the timeline is here. I,
Cheryl Boyle (10:51) mean, I’m happy to. She was with French. And then dr Peterson emailed me and was like, I need her like, I don’t know if you saw that, no.
Amanda.Wo (10:57) I did cause, it’s like squirrel to bat, but all there’s so much tension around who’s getting which provider?
Cheryl Boyle (11:05) Did.
Amanda.Wo (11:06) you catch dr deb’s tone in some of the like people? It was like boy, here, we go more layers and then he wanted them to go to the malics. So there’s going to be that’s going to be a whole thing. I think we just have to, I’ll tell and I’m happy to be on the email. She has to go to French cause I need it done now and what she’s getting an air with, yeah, and I need at least one person on backend to be done. Yeah. So we’ll just put it there on French. And then does Eli doesn’t have RX authority just yet? No, not.
Cheryl Boyle (11:39) Yet, I mean, I asked him. I, so, okay is okay. And I don’t think Laura gatz does either. Sorry. Just let me, so Eli has to do his linking. So I emailed him.
Amanda.Wo (11:53) Christina, can you make him do that today?
Cheryl Boyle (11:56) Sure. I think is medallion working it though. Let me, let me just check. We’re.
Christina Selberg (12:00) not double working. I don’t think medallion has helped any of the providers with the pals part, which is a little bit, it’s a little bit tricky.
Cheryl Boyle (12:08) Okay.
Christina Selberg (12:09) Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (12:12) But they can, and I think they have, because if I request it as part of the license then they will. And that’s where I don’t want to. I don’t want to like double work cause if they’re doing that, then well, but it might, it’ll probably be faster honestly if Eli just does it himself.
Amanda.Wo (12:30) So, they’re just to show.
Cheryl Boyle (12:31) You all like the pals login stuff. If medallion does the license for the provider, they’ll create that pals login and the login information will be in their external accounts in their profiles in medallion. So, if a provider’s ever like, oh, I don’t know what my login is to pals, they can just go into their, yeah, medallion profile under the external accounts and find it.
Christina Selberg (12:56) Yeah… I wonder is this something that could be potentially done today… to get the information uploaded that’s needed in pals with these supervising physicians so that they could sign it today?
Leigh Howle (13:14) I can definitely escalate this. I was just looking at Eli’s prescriptive authority for pa, and it says needs client attention, info needed from provider.
Cheryl Boyle (13:26) So, are you asking it’s? Those legal questions?
Leigh Howle (13:27) Yeah. Are you asking if what’s.
Amanda.Wo (13:31) the fastest making Eli do it or having medallion do it?
Cheryl Boyle (13:38) I would make Eli do it if it was me.
Leigh Howle (13:41) Yeah, because he’ll have those answers in real time, okay?
Cheryl Boyle (13:45) Yeah, he could just log into his pals now and do it, right? I mean, there are instructions that we can send. I don’t know Christina, how familiar you are. Like if somebody just wants to walk them through pals, it’s pretty easy. You just do that request. I’m actually in a pals right now for Brittany’s I can do Brittany’s to dr French. Okay? If y’all, want to watch me walk through it, but, yeah… who is?
Christina Selberg (14:15) Eli going with dr French? Eli can?
Cheryl Boyle (14:19) Go with montville because he’s a nurse practitioner and it’s unlimited there. So, yeah.
Christina Selberg (14:29) Is dr montville in office today? Where he would be able to?
Amanda.Wo (14:32) Even if he’s not in office, just teams message him and he’ll do it.
Leigh Howle (14:38) Okay. I.
Christina Selberg (14:39) will get with Eli this morning and have him complete. And then if we have any sticking points, Lee, would we be able to help this afternoon?
Leigh Howle (14:50) Yes, definitely. Okay. And I.
Cheryl Boyle (14:54) am sending Brittany nolans to dr French right now. I have dr French’s pals log in because I’ve done work for her and pals. So I’m going to log in for her and I’m going to sign it and send it back to Brittany.
Christina Selberg (15:08) And then it sounds like we need, oh, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry to interrupt you, no.
Cheryl Boyle (15:12) No, no, go.
Amanda.Wo (15:12) For it, no go.
Christina Selberg (15:13) For it. So, we’ll get Brittany and then it sounds like we need for Laura and Albert also.
Cheryl Boyle (15:24) Albert should be good. We read.
Amanda.Wo (15:26) Albert and said he was good. Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (15:29) Laura gatz though, does not have one that I can tell, I think.
Amanda.Wo (15:33) She’s on today. Can we, Christina, can you hit her up to push it through today as well? She would also go to montville?
Christina Selberg (15:41) Yes, I, yes, but I don’t she won’t have any tasks, but I’ll get her to the right place. Okay?
Amanda.Wo (15:49) Thank you. She won’t. Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (15:51) But she can just log into pals, and,
Christina Selberg (15:54) does she have a medallion account?
Leigh Howle (15:58) Oh.
Christina Selberg (15:58) Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (15:58) Everyone does. Yeah. Okay.
Christina Selberg (16:01) Yeah, if you.
Cheryl Boyle (16:01) Just want to tell her too, she can log into medallion. She can access her, you know, pals’ login information… and she should be, she’s a nurse practitioner, right? Yep.
Christina Selberg (16:13) So, she’s yeah, so,
Cheryl Boyle (16:14) she’s good to go with montville as well. Christine if.
Amanda.Wo (16:18) we can take a look at the first couple of weeks and just start pushing everyone towards pals who has shifts and a license. And then anybody we’re running into troubles, let’s get that geared up for this afternoon call so that we can talk to Lee and Kyle about anyone that’s struggling. Yeah. And then I’ll work on getting some pas assigned to dr Peterson. There’s. Going to be a fair number because we’re maxing out in Virginia, so we can always move some of those Virginia providers to her. We’ll get her some people, oh.
Leigh Howle (16:52) And also, Christina, since we’re on the disclosure questions, there’s a PDF with those questions on it on our Pennsylvania instructions. I don’t know if any providers could proactively answer those questions and just, we can get it uploaded into their documents in the platform so that we don’t there’s no more tasks. The team can just answer that based on that, those answers on that PDF? Oh, okay.
Christina Selberg (17:21) Is the PDF? Where in medallion is the PDF?
Leigh Howle (17:25) It’s on our Cheryl. Is she on our Pennsylvania PDF those instructions we have?
Cheryl Boyle (17:33) I think, well, I don’t know, I don’t know if we gave access to you or not. Christina, you might double check. Lee, I thought we did, but I honestly, I can’t.
Christina Selberg (17:42) remember, I mean, I have the administrative access, I think, but I’m not, I haven’t.
Leigh Howle (17:48) oh, let me share it with you. It’s a.
Christina Selberg (17:50) Supernavigator, it’s a Google document. I’m so.
Amanda.Wo (17:55) Sorry, ladies. I have to jump to another meeting but I’ll see you in the afternoon one. Okay?
Cheryl Boyle (18:00) Thanks, Amanda. Bye. Thanks.
Leigh Howle (18:02) Amanda. Bye.
Cheryl Boyle (18:13) Oh boy.
Cheryl Boyle (18:19) I’m just laughing because I do not want to send this email to dr Peterson that we had to take Nolan off of her. She’s she’s.
Leigh Howle (18:26) not going to like it huh.
Cheryl Boyle (18:28) Well, I don’t frankly know if I’m the right person to tell her that, but whatever. I can be the bad cop and Amanda can be the good cop.
Leigh Howle (18:43) You could say per leadership or?
Cheryl Boyle (18:46) That’s what I’m going to say. Yeah, we had to make an executive decision because of timing and sorry, like nobody has time to sit for three hours on waiting for the… board of Pennsylvania to answer and figure out why your license isn’t working in the thing. Like it’s so stupid. I don’t know what’s going on. Yeah.
Amanda.Wo (19:07) Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (19:08) I tried it too, and it just didn’t work. But anyway, sorry, Lee, go ahead that’s.
Leigh Howle (19:12) okay. So, Christina, I just shared this document with you. It’s called Pennsylvania licensing overview. And on the second tab under pa, step by step instructions, remember, number seven has the ahrq’s controlled substance and legal questions. So it’s just a generic PDF that, you know, if they could just go through and answer those questions. And did.
Christina Selberg (19:36) you send, did you email this to me? I’m so sorry. Oh.
Leigh Howle (19:40) I can, I shared it with you. You should have an email like.
Christina Selberg (19:43) With Google, okay?
Cheryl Boyle (19:45) And.
Christina Selberg (19:46) then where, once they, if they fill that out, where do they upload it? Yes?
Leigh Howle (19:51) So, if they go into like I’m in Eli’s right now, if they’ll just go into their documents section, And the platform, and then there’s a go back up there’s, an upload option here. And once that’s uploaded.
Christina Selberg (20:08) You know, just let.
Leigh Howle (20:10) me know who, if who did it, and I’ll tell our licensing team go into the documents, get the legal disclosure questions for pa. They don’t need to create a task. It’ll already be there ahead of time.
Leigh Howle (20:31) Okay. And.
Christina Selberg (20:32) then, okay, I’ll just have to get, I’ll… have to direct them to, the portion of medallion where they can obtain the pals, their pals, login, info. I’ll have them go in there. If they have a license, they should be able to go in after they have this RX authority PDF complete to do to request a supervising position. Is that correct?
Leigh Howle (21:02) We should check with Kyle on that piece. Okay?
Christina Selberg (21:08) Because I think if they’re licensed, I don’t remember doing this RX authority and legal disclosure form. But maybe I’m remembering incorrectly.
Leigh Howle (21:22) It may be new. Okay. Yeah.
Christina Selberg (21:28) Oh, I see. Yes, I did this.
Cheryl Boyle (21:31) Oh, good. Okay. Good.
Christina Selberg (21:32) So,
Leigh Howle (21:33) this would be.
Leigh Howle (21:43) You’re fine. You know, totally fine. So, I think question… number one would be any providers who are onboarding or who don’t have prescriptive authority, if they could just answer those questions, upload it into documents. I’ll just go ahead and tell our team licensing department, check documents first. If it’s there, log into, pals, answer the questions for the provider. So they don’t have to do that. If the questions… are already there, then the provider can get the login information under their external accounts and… then they could just log in and complete it and our team will see that it’s already done. Okay?
Leigh Howle (22:41) I’ll stop sharing my screen. So, yeah… any, and if there’s any providers that have questions, feel free to share… the step by step or if they, if there’s any feedback on improvements, happy to make any changes, it’s just kind of a work in progress as, you know, these licenses move forward.
Christina Selberg (23:06) So, for prescriptive authority, we need Eli, Brittany, we just need to change the name. It sounds like… Albert is good.
Leigh Howle (23:18) Laura gatz.
Christina Selberg (23:19) Has a license but no prescriptive authority, correct?
Cheryl Boyle (23:23) Okay. Not that I can tell. Yeah, I think she.
Leigh Howle (23:28) Okay.
Cheryl Boyle (23:29) Sorry, no, I’m sorry.
Christina Selberg (23:31) I’m just, and it sounds like we still need clarification about whether if, whether the RX authority is just for a controlled meds or whether it’s any prescriptive authority. I think we need clarification on that. Yeah.
Cheryl Boyle (23:49) Okay. I don’t know Lee, if you think Kyle might know that answer or be able to get it before the call that’d be super helpful.
Christina Selberg (23:59) Cheryl, does Taylor tolman have RX authority? She’s another one of our providers who’s going to be spending a fair amount of time in the urgent care.
Cheryl Boyle (24:13) Yeah. Okay. Let me see.
Leigh Howle (24:30) All right, taking.
Cheryl Boyle (24:32) Some time loading here. Yes, she does. Oh, she does. Yeah, she’s got RX authority in Pennsylvania. Yep. Okay. I think I have her with, let me see who she’s with. Who am I supervising?
Christina Selberg (24:59) Probably maybe dr montville probably.
Cheryl Boyle (25:01) Because she’s an NP, so that should be fine. But I don’t know. I just want to make sure she’s well, I don’t yeah.
Leigh Howle (25:09) She has.
Cheryl Boyle (25:10) An RX number. It’s probably montville. I just don’t know for sure. Like in pals, who she officially linked with. But if she has a number, she linked with somebody. Okay?
Christina Selberg (25:20) All right, do.
Leigh Howle (25:22) You want me to check in the platform to see if she has a supervising physician listed under professional info? She doesn’t.
Cheryl Boyle (25:30) yeah. I was just looking under her supervisors, not for Pennsylvania. So I’m wondering if I could probably just log into her pals and just see who it is. So I’ll just do that real quick. Does she?
Christina Selberg (25:43) Have a Dea license or?
Leigh Howle (25:45) We’re not sure.
Christina Selberg (25:48) I can follow up with.
Leigh Howle (25:49) Her, you can?
Cheryl Boyle (25:51) Look in… medallion. Sorry, and I would look in medallion. I just want to make sure I get her logged in. I’m trying to log into her pals real quick. Let me toggle over to.
Christina Selberg (26:01) I can check. Would you spell her name? Yeah?
Cheryl Boyle (26:07) She does. She has a Pennsylvania Dea, Taylor tolman, T.
Leigh Howle (26:10) OL.
Cheryl Boyle (26:11) ME. Yeah. Okay. And I just logged into her pals. She is linked. Yeah, dr motville in Pennsylvania?
Christina Selberg (26:22) Okay, perfect. Okay. All right. So just a few, a couple loose ends. It shouldn’t be too bad. And then Kelly Breen will be starting on the 20 sixth training. So, and I think we might be able to get her. I know we said we probably wouldn’t be able to get her licensed by that point, but we’ll just keep her tasks. Yeah.
Leigh Howle (26:50) That works.
Cheryl Boyle (26:54) Okay. And Stacy Underwood, she’s not doing no, anything, right? Yeah. No. Okay. So, I think it.
Christina Selberg (27:00) Would be at least for the upc providers, Eli, Brittany, Albert gatz, tolman, Kelly. Yeah. And then we’re working on the, some of the pool providers who would be Maria varga, Claire, Reese, Shelby.
Cheryl Boyle (27:18) Yeah, they’re still in process, yes.
Christina Selberg (27:19) And Natalie collier. Yeah. Okay.
Leigh Howle (27:29) All right. It sounds like we’ve got a good plan in place and I’ve been messaging Kyle during the meeting. So, any questions that have come up? I’ve sent over to him and, yeah, I didn’t have anything else. Did you all have anything to go over? No, I don’t.
Christina Selberg (27:46) you know, I’ll see what I can get done in these next couple of hours here. I’ve got to jump to another meeting but thank you so much for your time and your expertise. We really appreciate you helping get this program off.
Cheryl Boyle (27:58) The ground. Yeah, sounds.
Leigh Howle (27:59) Great. Happy to help any way I can. All right. Ladies. I’ll see you later. All right.
