Jack Schell (00:00) hello there. Hi, Jessica. How you been?
Jessica Windle (00:04) I’m doing okay. How are you doing?
Jack Schell (00:07) Alright. I just got back from a couple days out. So catching up, which is always fun fair.
Jessica Windle (00:13) Enough. I’ve been there a lot.
Jack Schell (00:16) Yeah. I appreciate you making the time and what I’m sure is a busy schedule just to recap. Of course, we’re meeting currently every other month to do some executive touchpoint on the partnership, make sure that we are tracking as expected. I do have a standard agenda for today that I’m happy to share and start going through and of course, want to talk about anything forward looking that might be of utmost importance. Okay. So first and foremost, from the medallion side, just a few quick updates for you on medallion as we enter and start Q a now from our roadmap perspective, just want to share a high level for you on some of the things that we’re focusing on from the core platform. You can see here a couple of areas that we’re looking to invest in this quarter green representing what we’re working on. Now, what’s coming up next is in blue and then down the road later, what we have our eye on. So right now, what’s being focused on is event driven infrastructure. So providing real time updates across various integrations and just providing better visibility into exactly what’s missing in provider profiles. So continuing to reduce any back and forth and specifically focusing on provider onboarding to make provider onboarding more smooth in the future. We will continue to work on again improving efficiency around provider profiles and also managing additional requirements for provider profiles and assets that might be linked to those. Okay? These are some items that, you know, as more updates happen, you’ll likely receive communications. And on that front, I did just want to make sure that you are receiving our product updates from the medallion team, correct?
Jessica Windle (02:10) What’s the email address that they come from? Let?
Jack Schell (02:13) Me double check that for you. I saved them all so I can always forward them to you if you missed any. It comes from help at medallion co. And in general, I can just show you one of the emails as an example. This is an update that went out last week on Tuesday, April seventh. The subject is always going to be a medallion product update. And then here are the updates that are called out in this update.
Jessica Windle (02:44) Yep. I am getting them. I got March’s… awesome… check. Yeah, I got February and March’s great.
Jack Schell (02:58) Awesome. So, in the coming months, likely, the updates that you’ll see are going to be tied back to some of these items, you know, since you are not, you know, currently handling any pay enrollment or credentialing through us, I don’t have the look forward roadmap for you for those services, but, you know, if anything is particularly impacting the work that you’re doing today, of course, want to call your attention to those product updates to make sure your team’s aware. And I’ll pull them here to make sure you’ve seen them as well. Okay. Thank you last time we spoke, one of the updates I shared with you is that we are also focusing on improving and also adding additional services for privileging and hospital applications. You have expressed some interest in wanting to learn more about that. I’m curious if that’s something that you still would want to set up some additional time to kind of talk about your hospital application process today. And if that service is something that might be of interest to oak street?
Jessica Windle (03:56) Yeah, I’m definitely interested in learning more like hospital privileges and admitting arrangements is like something that is definitely a challenge for us and we’re pursuing… you know, a couple different agreements with large groups for like admitting arrangements to provide coverage in markets. But where we don’t have, you know, a vendor partnership for admitting arrangements, we need to continue to pursue those. So being able to have, you know, resources for our team to do that more effectively might be helpful. Sure that’s good.
Jack Schell (04:35) To know, I had sent in follow up last time we spoke just some high level information about our privileging as a regard in regards to hospital applications? We also actually do support tjc credentialing as well. Did you have an opportunity to review this,
Jessica Windle (04:52) Honestly, if I did, I don’t recall. So I will have to go back and review.
Jack Schell (04:58) Okay. Well, I’m happy to re, share that with you as part of today’s follow up something that might help contextualize the work that we take over is what we refer to as like a, you, do we, do you, do we do overview? And so for hospital applications specifically, it would open up access to another part of medallion called our privileging portal. And within the privileging portal, you would do the requests for various hospital applications. You essentially would just request, the privileging or the appointment, and then our team would help complete the application, follow up with any additional information to the provider as we do today, for any provider needs automate automatically, you know, complete that application and submit it to the partner indicated. And then of course, our team will manage the back and forth with the entity to ensure that any approvals are happening and the information required to get the privileging setup, is completed. And then notify you via the platform. So similar to how most of our services work, you essentially just submit the request with the details included. And then our team would handle making sure that appointment goes through efficiently. So we are more than happy to set up additional time to speak with you at, in greater detail about what this might look like. Perhaps I can even bring one of our privileging product leaders, to speak with you too, if you have specific questions. But is this high level helpful in contextualizing how this work would be handled? Yes?
Jessica Windle (06:44) It is very helpful. Okay?
Jack Schell (06:47) I’ll include again that in the follow up last time, you also mentioned that that’s something that you might want to include, your executive on as well because they would have interest in that. I’m curious you’re reporting to somebody new, you mentioned, correct?
Jessica Windle (07:05) Yeah. In November, I moved under the office of provider affairs and engagement. So I’m reporting to our VP of provider fair affairs and engagement?
Jack Schell (07:17) Okay. And is that somebody who’s new to who, who’s that? Yeah.
Jessica Windle (07:22) He’s new to the organization he joined probably about six to nine months ago. Okay?
Jack Schell (07:30) Should we plan to discuss this in a couple weeks with them? Yeah, let’s.
Jessica Windle (07:36) let’s take a quick look at this. I’ll talk to him about it in our one on one next week and see if he’s interested in joining, and then we can focus on scheduling. Okay?
Jack Schell (07:48) All right. Sounds good. Well, I’ll leave it there for now. Awesome. Before I get into specific like execution metrics and consumption review. I of course, want to open up to your end of things on the oak street side, anything from a strategic level that’s coming down the pipeline or anything as it pertains to our partnership and work being completed together that you were hoping to discuss today?
Jessica Windle (08:18) As of right now, I think we’re good. We had a couple issues with the invoices, but those are going a little bit more smoothly now. Otherwise like we’ve all the other than like the small operational issues we’ve addressed with Retta, like I think we’re okay. Okay.
Jack Schell (08:40) That sounds good. Just some context. And if it wasn’t shared already with you with regard to invoicing and, the processes there, our finance team, accounting team did actually implement a new software. And so they have been refining some of their processes. And so I know one of the items that you require is a certain detail via CSV and so if there were any kinks in the process with invoicing in the past couple weeks, it’s likely due to that. And so like please just, you know, if you do have another issue again as you did last time, feel free to reach out directly to our accounting or finance team and, see me in for visibility so that I can get it on their radar. But they have been refining some processes. So if there’s any issues, apologies in advance.
Jessica Windle (09:29) Yeah, no, totally understand. And unfortunately, with how we’re structured and the fact that like the funds for this contract is touching multiple business areas, we have to have that breakdown in order to be able to process the invoice. And then everybody has, of course. So when we don’t get that timely, it makes it so that we can’t pay it timely because we don’t have the information we need to allocate the cost for.
Jack Schell (09:54) Sure. So.
Jessica Windle (09:55) But that seems to be resolved now and hopefully we don’t have any other issues. But just if I do notice it, I’ll let you know, okay?
Jack Schell (10:04) Awesome. Yeah. I just wanted to provide the context that our team has been switching softwares on the back end. So, you know, we’ve noticed a couple of hiccups here and there, but I think that’s to be expected when transitioning softwares from time to time.
Jessica Windle (10:19) Yes, absolutely. As somebody who recently had to implement a new software over a holiday weekend, I feel your pain.
Jack Schell (10:27) My gosh, what was that one?
Jessica Windle (10:30) We went live with phase one of our epic migration over Easter over the Easter holiday and.
Jack Schell (10:36) it was, wow. Epic is a beast too. It is a.
Jessica Windle (10:40) beast. Thankfully, I was not on the like whole implementation team. I just said teeny tiny part. I was like we made the decision to do this over a holiday weekend and like, yeah, can I like call them? Yeah?
Jack Schell (10:53) For sure. Okay. Awesome. Well, from there, I want to just share some high level metrics on execution just so that we have a pulse on how things are processing to date, new licenses completed over the past 12 months, 144 renewal licenses over the past 12 months, 451. Currently in progress. 182 of those there are, if you go to your licensing page, there’s that needs client attention bucket, there’s currently just 93 requests there that are awaiting client attention. The current average task age for providers is sitting at about a median of 12 days, would love to see as time goes on that perhaps get down as, you know, we continue to work together but not this isn’t incredibly high, I would say, and we know how much work it takes sometimes to get providers attention, on something. So totally understand… for some specific turnaround time metrics requested to intake, complete, of course, intake complete, being the point at which medallion can take over the work and start completing work on your behalf, currently about 10 days. And then turnaround time for the entire life cycle of a licensing request from the moment it’s requested to when it’s completed median right now is about 48 days, which is of course, as we know much better than a perhaps, a 90 day timeline sometimes seen with certain boards and requirements. So hopefully these are good numbers and you’re feeling good about these. Yeah.
Jessica Windle (12:28) That is great. Actually.
Jack Schell (12:31) Awesome. And again, always just love to call attention to the fact that you know, a lot of the detail that I pull forward here does live within medallion today, under the analytics dashboard and you have your licensing analytics dashboard in the platform. Should you ever want to review these numbers yourself?
Jessica Windle (12:50) That’s perfect. Thank you. I appreciate it. Of course. All right.
Jack Schell (12:55) And then next here is the current consumption and a readout of the services with which we’re you’re currently subscribed and current percentage consumed against the volumes anticipated. The, for current consumption consumed, 167,000 out of the, you know, 318 allocated for the current term. So about just over 50 percent consumed. If you have any questions about any of those listed here or, you know, that you’re anticipating any influx of service requests for any of these, of course, we always love to give our team the heads up whether that’s Retta or our specialist team. But looking decently healthy with, you know, a bit of room to increase service requests for the remainder of the year as needed with 100 or 50,000 dollars left, in services that you can consume. Okay? And then, of course, as you are in a multi year agreement with us, anything that’s not consumed the end of this first year will roll over into year two.
Jack Schell (14:02) So if you can use it now and have requests that you want to get processed before the end of the current term, awesome. But yes, of course, you will have anything outstanding will roll over to the next year of the term. Awesome.
Jessica Windle (14:16) Thank you. I don’t think I have any questions on this, okay?
Jack Schell (14:22) All right. Well, we want to make sure we’re tracking that. So there’s no surprises there. Our next touch base based on our bi monthly schedule is in June, but I do think, you know, given the interest and privileging would love to stand up a deeper dive on that with you and your team in the coming weeks. So I’ll follow up. I’ll send you that information and then hopefully we can get something scheduled with you and, your leader on what that might look like for oak street? Okay?
Jessica Windle (14:53) For our June meeting, can we shift that meeting to later in the day? Yeah?
Jack Schell (14:59) Absolutely. Let me pull up my calendar. I’m.
Jessica Windle (15:02) free anytime after three central, but I’m double booked at the current time slot.
Jack Schell (15:09) On June on June. Yeah. Okay. So, do you have a preferred time? I’m pretty flexible. I’m just not free at the three o’clock hour?
Jessica Windle (15:21) What about three 30 or four? Yeah?
Jack Schell (15:25) Let’s do four if you don’t mind. Okay. Yeah, that’s fine. Okay. I’m moving it to four on June tenth right now. Sounds good. So you should see an updated invite come through. Sounds good. Okay. And that’s good timing as I do believe that’s a couple days before the end of the current term… and then we’ll be well set up to head into year two.
Jack Schell (15:56) Awesome.
Jessica Windle (16:01) Yeah.
Jack Schell (16:03) Looking a little busy… let’s see, since we do have a couple minutes in anticipation of having a conversation more directly about hospital applications or privileging… you mentioned that you generally do have admitting arrangements. But in times when you don’t is when you might need the support with something like this. Yeah. And how just like from a thinking from a volume perspective, like how often are you finding that you need to have? It sounds like these are like these would be like one off hospital applications.
Jessica Windle (16:45) Yeah. So currently, we’re in about 27 states. We have admitting privileges currently in about seven, 60 percent of those states.
Jessica Windle (17:01) So there’s 40 percent of the states where we’re either pursuing another vendor partnership or we’re working through having individual admitting arrangements that we’re setting up on behalf of the group. So.
Jack Schell (17:15) I would say.
Jessica Windle (17:17) You know, we would, we typically try to do like our senior medical director or executive medical director… over the region that will get those privileges on behalf of the group. And then we’ll do an internal admitting arrangement with them.
Jack Schell (17:38) Okay. And then internal admitting. Sure. Okay. Sounds… good. I just wanted to take a couple of notes that can bring the most helpful information to that conversation. Do you have? Are you with those 60 percent of states that you’re all that you already have admitting privileges? I assume you’re also managing them like reappointments? Yeah?
Jessica Windle (18:07) The reappointment process, we do work through the biggest thing that we have to manage as far as reappointments is, you know, the financial piece.
Jack Schell (18:18) So, payment.
Jessica Windle (18:19) And cutting checks for that. Otherwise, the process is pretty simple. We just have to give them, you know, an updated Coi or an updated app and make sure that they get paid. Okay? Got it.
Jack Schell (18:31) Because just obviously as part of this, if we were to leverage medallion as like a source of truth for the appointments, you could have our team process reappointments too as time goes on.
Jack Schell (18:44) And it could be part of like the holistic process. But just wanted to make sure. Okay. All right. I think that’s good that’ll help me tailor some of the conversation and maybe I’ll bring Jennifer who is our privileging lead. Maybe I’ll invite her to the call too so you can ask all the more granular questions that you might have about our processes. Okay? Sounds?
Jessica Windle (19:11) Great. I’ll be in touch probably in the next week or so. And if there’s anything else you need from me in the meantime, feel free to reach out.
Jack Schell (19:19) Yeah. Awesome. Thank you for the time and I hope you have a great rest of your week. You too. All right, bye?
