Dora Tao (00:00) amen, thank you. Hey, Dora. Hey, how are you?
Taylor Ryan (00:17) I’m good. How are you?
Dora Tao (00:18) I’m good. Yeah, I was traveling, but I’m back now. So I’m feeling worse.
Taylor Ryan (00:22) Oh my God again.
Dora Tao (00:24) Long story. But I went to the east coast actually over the weekend for my friend’s baby shower. So, oh, nice. I played last night and that’s why I was trying to figure out the scheduling of our call. I was like, oh, I can’t really do.
Taylor Ryan (00:36) It, no, totally. I know you’re good. Where on the east coast were you? I was?
Dora Tao (00:41) In Philly over the weekend and then I went to New York. Nice. Okay. But yeah, it was good. I love going back east. So it was always good.
Taylor Ryan (00:48) Yeah, nice. Yeah, I’m in Austin right now, we have a company off site. So today’s the last day. So we’re all headed back, either some of us are tonight some tomorrow, but, yeah, thanks for taking the.
Dora Tao (00:59) Call while you’re on your off.
Taylor Ryan (01:01) site. Oh my God. No, please. Thank you for making the time. I appreciate it. Yeah. So what’s going on? Tell me?
Dora Tao (01:08) Yeah. Sorry. So I talked to my VP the other day and I talked about what we said with potential negotiations with the implementation and the medallion core, and he was basically like, unless the implementation can be zero, I probably don’t have the time basically not to entertain this idea. Not in a bad way. I think we just have a lot of stuff going on. And then for transparency, like I, we were working on the back end to see if it made sense to do an internal hire and we were trying to get, we were trying to do like both things at once like which one made the most sense? And we got the internal hire approved by our like talent team to be able to move forward with that. So, I think right now that’s kind of where we’re at with what we’re doing for licensing. Yeah.
Taylor Ryan (01:58) Got it. Yeah. I mean, obviously not. I.
Dora Tao (02:02) Know, I’m sorry, I know that’s not what you wanted to hear. I.
Taylor Ryan (02:05) Mean, it’s not your fault. I mean, I guess like my, what I’d ask is like if there, you know, like if we were able to get down to the cost of like an internal hire would like that be interesting to you guys like,
Dora Tao (02:22) I can ask, I think that I… don’t know that it makes sense for you guys or like, I feel like that would be really hard to be honest for you guys to get down to that cost. Or an internal hire I think is budgeted probably very low compared to what your pricing is. So yeah, I think just right now we’re probably not going with the vendors. What is the sense I’m getting from our VP? I don’t think it’s like a no forever, but that’s where we’re.
Taylor Ryan (02:54) at right?
Dora Tao (02:54) Now, okay.
Taylor Ryan (02:56) Do you think that? I mean like just, you know, like talking to my boss and everything he was like, you know, we were just kind of talking through like your internal stuff and he like really wanted to meet with your VP to at least like try to see if there’s anything that we could do. I mean, like, I don’t know if, it would, if your VP would be open to it, but honestly, like if he would be open to meeting with my boss, like even if it doesn’t pan out, but just hearing my boss out and, it would mean a lot to me like it would be really impactful if he would be open to that obviously like, you know, best. But if it is something that he’d be open to, I know that my boss would really appreciate at least just like hearing him out. Do you think that he would be open to that?
Dora Tao (03:47) I will ask again, I’m going to be honest and I say probably not in a bad way. Okay. It’s not you against you or obviously no?
Taylor Ryan (03:57) No, no, of course. I don’t take it personally. Yeah, it’s business. I get it. Yeah.
Dora Tao (04:03) I think at the end of the day, I feel like he’s just coming from like a pure business perspective.
Taylor Ryan (04:09) Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I mean, I guess just, you know, the like conversations we were having internally were like, well, you know, I guess before our last call, I like really wasn’t even thinking about the fact that like an internal hire, was on the table and so, you know, obviously like the turnaround times are what we were kind of anchoring to. And so, you know, if there is a point where like he wants to entertain like, you know, just seeing how low we can get the price given, you know, how much quicker it would be with medallion like, you know, you let us know if that’s a conversation that he’d be open to. Yeah, but yeah, bummer. I know.
Dora Tao (04:57) I know, I feel like we were chatting so much and you guys did a, really great job and I feel like he’s just kind of like, no, I was like, okay.
Taylor Ryan (05:05) Yeah, I know cause he tasked you with like figuring this out, right? And then you were like, okay here.
Dora Tao (05:10) Yeah, exactly. So, I’m like, yeah, exactly. It was just kind of, I don’t know. It’s fine. It’s not a huge deal. It’s nothing personal, obviously.
Taylor Ryan (05:18) No, no, of course. Not where we’re at right now. Okay. Well, yeah, I mean, if you ask him and he happens to be open to meeting, it would mean a lot. I like, I totally get, if decisions are made and, you know, he doesn’t have the time but like, I don’t think it’s completely unrealistic that we could like. What I’ll tell you is like, we have a lot of flexibility in discounting, okay? And like, where are, and honestly, like, would it be helpful? Like, could I just give you like a best and final like here’s where we could get the pricing to and just like run it by him and see if it piques his interest? Sure?
Dora Tao (05:59) I mean, if you guys have a best and final, yeah, maybe I can give one last stitch. Yeah.
Taylor Ryan (06:05) Exactly that’s. I don’t want to ask you to like ask him for time with us, just get straight to it and like, let me see. Let me go see how big of a discount I can get. I’ll send it to you and like if you would run it by him and just see what, he thinks, you know, and then, obviously, you know, I totally get it. I know it’s not personal. Don’t feel bad. Yeah, I know I.
Dora Tao (06:27) really enjoyed working with you. I feel like you’re yeah. No. Same here. Yeah, I’m sad that we couldn’t make it work, but no.
Taylor Ryan (06:33) All good. I just, you know, whatever’s going to make your life easier, like whatever’s going to make your life the easiest and like be most efficient for you guys is the most important thing. So, like, if that’s an internal hire and like that’s the direction you want to go, I totally respect that. I just want to make sure that like I’m laying it all out there on the table for you guys so that you’re not making decisions without complete information, you know, totally. Okay, cool. Well, let me go. Let me go see what I can get discounted and then send it over to, you know, run it by him. Yeah, and let me know if that, you know, changes his mind. But no, it’s been great working with you and I really appreciate all of your time and I know that you’ve put a lot of time into working with us. So I appreciate it.
Dora Tao (07:15) Yeah, cool. Thanks, Taylor. I appreciate it. Yeah, I’ll keep you if we can figure this out. That’d be great if we can’t obviously, I’ve enjoyed our time together.
Taylor Ryan (07:23) Yeah, absolutely. All right. Well, thank you Dora. I appreciate it. Thank you. Have a good week. Bye.
