Multi-specialty healthcare group (per Deanna Purchiaroni). Providers include BCBAs, SLPs, NPs, and MDs. Email domain: corticacare.com.

Key Contacts

Cortica side

  • Sarah Aloisi — Head of Payer Contracting & Analytics (saloisi@corticacare.com)
  • Deanna Purchiaroni — Credentialing Coordinator (dpurchiaroni@corticacare.com)
  • Brianna — has access to the PAVE portal and CBHI/CHI sign-offs (last name not given)
  • Paige — previously handled New Jersey enrollments (role not given)

Medallion side

  • Vanessa Persha — Senior Engagement Manager (vanessa.persha@medallion.co)
  • Derek — took the exec touch-base follow-up after 2026-04-16 weekly (last name not given)
  • Cecile — licensing (currently out; Deanna is covering some of her work)

Active Work / Processes

  • Weekly Q/A + Feedback Session — recurring cadence with Vanessa.
  • Quality program expansion — Medallion is moving to daily QA sampling across all lines; high-risk payers flagged for 100% QC before submission. Currently flagged: North Carolina Medicaid, PCCN.
  • Capacity ramp on Cortica account — Medallion onboarding additional agents; possible short-term dip in movement while ramping (per Vanessa, 2026-04-16).
  • AI calling activity stopped — Medallion had AI calling activity on Cortica’s account; Sarah raised this in an email dated April 2; Vanessa confirmed it was removed immediately.
  • Specialty-tracking enhancement requested — Vanessa opened an EPD (engineering/product) request to add specialty designation (primary / secondary / alternate) to the provider request modal. Motivated by dual-role providers: Laura Burek (BCBA + SLP), Dr Suzanne Goh (BCBA + MD). Broader than Cortica but expedited.
  • Email preferences — TSM team confirmed no selective bulk update: email alerts are all-or-nothing at the provider level. Enhancement request submitted to EPD.
  • Support email cleanupsupport@medallion.co is no longer in use; all support should go through help@medallion.co.

Pain Points / Open Issues

  • Application accuracy errors — Sarah reviewed Cortica’s apps and found both “group” and “individual” sections filled out on a single Cigna/Independence Blue Cross application; providers listed as PCPs incorrectly; inconsistent entity classification (LLC vs corp vs person on the same payer). Sarah’s summary: “if the process is good but the applications are incorrect, then it doesn’t really matter.”
  • Offshore staff concern — Sarah asked whether Medallion staff are offshore (potential source of confusion). Vanessa confirmed QC and QA teams are 100% onshore. Broader staffing question was not fully answered.
  • Medallion not pushing back on payers — pattern across payers: when reps misroute (e.g. Cigna → ASH) or respond with “wrong contact” (e.g. PCCN), Medallion historically complied or continued follow-ups without reading replies. Being addressed by new QC/QA mailbox-review step.
  • Cigna national contract stalled — 1 of 19 NC providers enrolled since Nov 2025; Cortica wants these pulled off Medallion’s queue if they can’t move them.
  • PCCN enrollment stuck since Aug 2025.

Decisions & Commitments

  • 2026-04-16 — Vanessa: will revise the Cigna project plan to (a) remove ASH routing instructions, (b) add Cigna-specific rules (roster for 5+ provider groups, intake_pdm link letter for already-credentialed providers joining a group).
  • 2026-04-16 — Vanessa: will call Cigna to try to obtain a full roster for NC; if unsuccessful, will flip those enrollments to client-owned at Cortica’s option.
  • 2026-04-16 — Vanessa: flipping the PCCN “Deborah” provider enrollment to client-owned so Cortica can drive it directly.
  • 2026-04-16 — Cortica: Deanna will send a proactive heads-up email to 11 NC Medicaid providers that a training task is coming.

Key Facts

  • Cigna: 74 lines processing, 7 needs-client-attention (as of 2026-04-16).
  • Cigna NC: 1 of 19 providers enrolled (contract signed Nov 2025).
